Behind the lens

After four decades as a professional photographer, my journey in the craft is just beginning.

In 2017, with 35 years’ experience as a photographer for the daily Stratford Beacon Herald, I left newspaper reportage to pursue a new career path in freelance. The road in the subsequent six years led to countless fulfilling opportunities

Now, it’s time for another shift. The pandemic forced me, like so many of us, to reassess goals and direction. While I still welcome new and engaging corporate work, my current focus is on personal projects and the occasional teaching gig.

To that end, I regularly run individual and group workshops. Meanwhile, I continue to document the ephemera of my local area, work that’s featured in new collections here: Past present, Close to home, Impressions, Minimals, Horizons, Studies in colour and For the love of trees.

This is, I hope, just a first tentative step to creating a larger, more diverse body of images. My intent is to explore an even greater variety of styles and subject matter over time..
